From time to time we offer highly specialized classes for a small fee. These classes are goal oriented and time sensitive.  They run from 2 to 6 weeks and often fill up quickly. Read below to see some of the options that may be coming to you soon.  Check our calendar often for what’s coming up.  Or sign up below to request an email when a new class comes out. You can also speak to the listed instructor any time to find out when they are thinking of doing the next class.

This workout program is designed to fit within your schedule! You have two options to choose from, Monday/Wednesday with Thursday evening option or Tuesday/Thursday with Friday morning class option. *Added a third class!

Kettlebells

Kettlebells are traditional Russian cast iron weights that looks like a cannon ball with a handle.  Kettlebells offer all-around fitness by incorporating a series of repetitive movements that provide cardiovascular training, develop strength and flexibility, help prevent injury to your back, knees and shoulders.  This class gives you a low-impact, power-filled, strength-building workout.  You’ll see a noticeable change in your body in six short weeks.  The Russian kettlebell can replace a lot of gym hardware you may be used to using: barbells, dumbbells, belts for weighted pullups and dips, thick bars, lever bars, medicine balls, grip devices, and cardio equipment. Kettlebells are used by all types of athletes from football players, cyclists, power lifters, ballerinas, swimmers, and more. So whether you are an athlete looking to improve performance, or if you are simply looking for a way to spice up your workout, Kettlebells are for you!

Masters 101

Swimming class for adults to prepare for Masters

Have you always wanted to try masters swimming but have been too intimidated by the “piranhas” in the pool? Masters 101 is the class for you.

 

Masters 101 is a four week course with workouts three days per week. You will be introduced to the four competitive strokes, turns, and starts. You will also learn how to read the pace clock, understand interval training, and learn the vocabulary associated with the sport of swimming so that if you decide to join Masters it will all feel very familiar.

 

The class moves at a slower pace than a Masters Swim workout and focuses on stroke improvement, conditioning and endurance. No experience is necessary, only the desire to exercise through swimming. The class is open to all interested adults and we would especially like to encourage our senior population to try this class. We guarantee that all who enroll will become better swimmers!

 

Enrollment limited to 10 participants. Sign up in the Adult Center to ensure your spot. All forms must be completed and paid for at time of enrollment.
